EyeCare Partners in Tempe, AZ is seeking an Optical Technician to deliver a world-class Total Patient Experience by dispensing and fitting glasses and contacts from optometrists' prescriptions, guiding patients to frames that suit facial features and personal style.

You will operate the lensometers, educate patients on lenses and coatings, and collect measurements to ensure precise fittings and accurate orders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in a customer/patient-facing role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Favorable background check as required by state.
• Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

• Determine patient wants and needs and sell to exceed expectations
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to suit patient needs
• Collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt
• Dispense patient orders and repair/adjust frames
• Dispense all glasses and/or contact lens orders using current process

Summary: An Optical Technician will strive to deliver a world-class Total Patient Experience that maximizes retail sales while supporting patients' medical needs. This role dispenses and fits glasses and contacts based on prescriptions from Optometrists and Ophthalmologists, connecting patient needs to the goods and services we offer.

Work is primarily performed in a standard office or clinical setting. However, travel to other locations may be required to carry out essential duties.

• Minimum of 1 year in a customer/patient-facing role or equivalent combination of education and experience

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED required.

Licenses and Credentials

ABO and NCLE certifications preferred but not required.

Systems and Technology

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Physical Requirements

This role involves frequent walking, sitting, and standing; bending, stooping, and reaching. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items up to 25 lbs. Requires strong fine motor skills, constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity, including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus, are required at all times. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.
