Description

Under direct supervision, perform a variety of tasks related to daily optical lab operations, production, and patient orders.

Responsibilities

1. Offer exceptional customer service by proactively communicating in a timely manner; call patients or vendors to communicate delays/issues with lens orders
2. Order lenses and frames from appropriate lab or vendor based on vision plan
3. Perform shipping functions including efficiently working with time-sensitive shipments and maintaining records
4. Unpack and sort inbound frames and lenses to appropriate in-house trays or ship to external labs as necessary
5. Check products on order for delays or back orders; communicate and resolve order issues
6. Assist with inventory control, stocking lenses, sorting and distributing trays, pulling lenses, and performing cosmetic inspections
7. Help with ordering lab supplies, working with vendors, troubleshooting issues, and creating lenses for glasses
8. Assist in moving work efficiently through the department
9. Maintain safety standards and a clean workstation
10. Collaborate with other departments
11. Adhere to quality management and safety procedures
12. Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

1. Experience working in a fast-paced environment
2. One to two years of relevant experience
3. Ability to meet productivity and quality standards
4. Good communication skills
5. Manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination
6. Physical ability to bend, kneel, push, and pull
7. Color recognition ability
8. Ability to follow procedures
9. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
10. Ability to stand or walk up to 100% of the time

Working Conditions

The environment is generally favorable, well-lit, ventilated, with no major hazards. Individuals may stand for long periods, wear safety gear, and work near machinery with noise and dust.
