Job description

As a Technical Consulting Engineer - Optical, you will be responsible for providing second- and third-level technical support for optical and data/IP technologies to customers, partners, and Cisco's internal teams. You will apply your analytical skills and technical expertise to resolve network and product issues of moderate to high complexity.

Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  2. More than 5 years of experience in optical networks (SONET, DWDM, OC, SDH, ML, MSTP, etc.).
  3. Strong knowledge of networking industry, products, and protocols.
  4. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and deep analysis of Optical/DWDM networks.
  5. Recent experience in supporting and troubleshooting Cisco NCS1K and NCS2K platforms.
  6. CCNA, CCNP, or higher certification.
  7. Experience with databases (Oracle, SQL, Sybase) and Unix.
  8. CCOS certification (SONET or SDH).
  9. Important: Candidates with previous experience in Huawei are not eligible to apply.
Responsibilities
  1. Provide global technical support for optical and data/IP technologies.
  2. Diagnose and resolve high-priority network issues for customers.
  3. Work in test labs to replicate and troubleshoot complex issues.
  4. Create detailed and accurate defect reports within the area of expertise.
  5. Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve large-scale problems.
  6. Train other engineers and contribute to technical knowledge materials.
