GENERAL FUNCTION:

The basic function of the Optician is to attract and retain patients by delivering an exceptional patient experience, foster patient retention, and promote outstanding doctor satisfaction.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Drive profitable store sales by fostering a retail selling culture through role-playing and effective retail sales skills.
2. Develop professional business relationships with other associates and Doctors.
3. Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions, and fit and adapt lenses and frames, including but not limited to:
4. Utilize optical prescriptions in conjunction with the patient's visual requirements.
5. Recommend specific lenses and coatings to suit patient needs.
6. Assist patients in selecting frames and coordinate frames to prescriptions and needs.
7. Perform optical measurements accurately.
8. Ensure a quality patient experience through correct pricing, POS entry, and realistic delivery time quotes.
9. Provide guidance to patients regarding Managed Vision Care.
10. Assist the store in effective merchandising according to the Planogram and company standards.
11. Support the implementation of marketing programs, signage, and promotions.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Ability to sell using effective sales techniques and be accountable for results.
• Experience with retail or customer service environments.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent, or 1-2 years of experience in retail.
