Job description

Optical Retail Manager FT Penn Central, IA #305

Company Overview: 30 years ago Dr. Barnes founded Eyemart Express to deliver everything a patient needs. It started with one friendly shop in Appleton, WI, and has since expanded to over 245 stores in 42 states. Today, Eyemart Express is celebrated for promptly delivering quality eyewear at great prices, while maintaining great relationships with optometrists and local communities. We’re not like everyone else—with local labs in stores, eye exams, and same-day delivery on glasses—our customers never miss a moment. Now, you can join one of the nation’s top optical retailers and help improve lives by helping people see better.

Earning Potential: The earning potential for this role is competitive, inclusive of base pay and incentives.

Job Description: Under the direction of the General Manager, the Retail Manager will ensure that all customers who enter the store are professionally assisted with the purchase of eyewear. This leadership role encompasses sales, merchandising, and customer experience, as well as some administrative responsibilities. The Retail Manager will focus on store sales and quality goals.

Responsibilities:

Store Presence: Ensure a manager or designated lead associate is on duty at all times. Be a visible and accessible presence to patients and employees. Report to work at least 30 minutes prior to store opening and complete the daily store opening process, including mandatory daily bank deposits. Saturdays are mandatory workdays for management, unless otherwise approved by the Regional Vice President (RVP).

Performance Management:

Ensure all employees use the “lifestyle” selling approach, explaining product features and benefits to customers to ensure the appropriate premium products are sold.

Use a summary style close to review sales and build value in the purchase.

Train staff to greet all customers upon entering the store and begin assisting them within 2 minutes.

Maintain store sales goals at or above company standards, seeking to maximize the store’s gross sales wherever possible.

Patient Relations: Ensure total patient satisfaction and resolve any patient complaints and/or sales discrepancies. In partnership with home office management, process any refunds and approve in-store credits.

Policy Enforcement: Act as Eyemart’s ambassador by following and enforcing all company policies and procedures.

Store Cleanliness/Maintenance: Maintain a quality medical/retail environment through daily basic housekeeping duties including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces, cleaning bathrooms, and window washing. With district management approval, schedule periodic deep-cleaning and facility maintenance.

Inventory Control: Receive stock, maintain proper merchandising as per home office guidelines, conduct monthly inventory, follow proper remake procedures, maintain current edit audit logs to prevent inventory loss, and enforce company procedures for employee discounted purchases.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience working in retail, customer service, or sales.

Experience working in the optical industry is preferred.
