Job summary

Molex is seeking an Optical Process Engineer in Bridgewater, NJ to monitor and improve optical performance and manufacturability of WSS products throughout their life cycle. Collaborate with the WSS Design team on root-cause investigations and support developing and improving assembly processes in NP I and scale‑up phases.

You will develop SPC tools to monitor performance, lead corrective actions for high-yield manufacturing, and drive production efficiency while reducing costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• Experience with optical alignment and coupling and beam propagation rules.
• Experience with optical performance parameters and measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manual and automated assembly/test processes like optical alignment and bonding.
• Facilitate engineering changes and process improvements across the product life cycle.
• Review processes to improve yield, cycle time and quality.
• Create assembly instructions, process docs, maintenance plans, and control plans.
• Train and audit technicians to process documentation.
• Monitor process performance using SPC tools.
• Resolve optical assembly issues in design phase with design/reliability teams.
• Support production line moves and new product introductions with QC and process setup.
• Support year-over-year cycle time reductions.
• Manage BOM changes and coordinate with other functions.
