This position requires a detail‑oriented professional with a passion for precision and craftsmanship to assemble, adjust, calibrate, clean, and test optical‑mechanical instruments and subassemblies.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, adjust, calibrate, clean, and test instruments and subassemblies.
• Perform wiring diagnostics and troubleshoot instruments, components, and systems.
• Interpret military specifications, blueprints, and drawings.
• Operate calipers, height gauges, collimators, VOMs, and other measuring devices.
• Understand complicated mechanical components, precision fit recommendations, instrument qualifications, and calibrations.
• Use hand tools and light machinery such as drill presses.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical experience preferred.
• Experience with soldering and electrical circuitry preferred.
• Fine motor skills and manual dexterity required (pinching, pressing, rotating, using tweezers, delicate tool work).
• Frequent sitting and standing required.
• Good near vision required.
• Must be able to lift and move 40 lbs, with or without assistance.
• Work instructions provided in English.
