Job summary

Candidates will apply lean methods to scale production for growing programs, while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

The role focuses on optical alignment, process improvements, and collaboration with design engineering to implement cost reductions and efficient layouts within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; or graduate degree with 4+ years; or 10 years equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience with optical systems, including mirrors and lenses, and strong optical alignment understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing engineering activities for electromechanical and optical assemblies.
• Develop scalable processes from technical docs and create procedures and routers.
• Lead process improvement and cost-reduction projects applying lean principles.
• Lead optimization of optical alignment processes, procedures and layouts.
• Coordinate design changes with design engineering to address issues.
• Estimate and track manufacturing costs to drive continuous improvement.
• Direct technicians and other operators; back up the operations manager.
• Support capacity planning and lab space layout for program changes.
