Rochester Optical was established in Rochester, New York in 1932. At the time, the ownersaw a growing need for protective tactical eyewear for the Armed Forces, aircraft pilots, and police officers. Later, Rochester Optical became one of the country's few military prescription glasses frame manufacturersand supplied the Army and the Air Force with combat-ready ballistic eyewear for soldiers. The Optical Lab Technician performs various production tasks for manufacturing prescription eyewear. Each technician is responsible for the quality and quantity of the work performed and is expected to understand and practice proper quality and safety procedures for every operation.
