Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense in Billerica, MA is seeking an Optical In-House Service/Repair Technician to troubleshoot, clean, rework, and refurbish optical sub-assemblies and align imaging modules and camera systems.

Under supervision, you will support repair turnaround times, help develop standard procedures to ISO standards, and provide internal technical support including repair estimates and spare parts considerations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of prior work experience in a related field.
• Certificate(s) in optics/electronics or equivalent preferred.
• Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills and proficiency using electronic test equipment.
• Good working knowledge of computers, computer peripherals and programs.
• Able and willing to lift a minimum of 45 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine rebuild, testing and refurbishment of optical sub-assemblies using documentation and drawings.
• Work as a member of the service team to meet repair turnaround times and customer satisfaction.
• Assist in developing standard repair and rebuild procedures documented to company and ISO standards.
• Provide technical support in developing customer service spare parts inventory, including requirements for contents and quantities.
• Provide internal customer support regarding technical repair issues.
• Provide accurate repair estimate details including labor, material and timeline requirements.
• Perform other job related duties as required.
