Job summary

Lightera, a global leader in optical fiber and connectivity solutions, is seeking an R&D Engineer to advance next‑generation fiber technologies by designing experiments, building measurement systems, and analyzing data in a fast‑paced R&D environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Master's degree in a technical field, have hands-on lab experience, strong programming skills (Python, C), and enjoy collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to drive innovation.

Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in a technical field (Physics/Optical/ME/EE or related).
Strong optics and lab measurement fundamentals.
Experience designing, conducting, and analyzing laboratory experiments.
Programming skills in Python, C, or similar for automation and data collection.
Experience interfacing lab instrumentation with computer-based control systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, conduct, and optimize experiments to advance optical fiber technologies.
Develop, build, and improve laboratory test setups and measurement systems.
Analyze data and document results clearly in technical reports.
Troubleshoot lab equipment and processes to resolve issues.
Support development and operation of fabrication processes and equipment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals.
Develop software tools or automation for data collection and control.
Maintain organized experimental records and procedures.
