Job summary

Hach, a Veralto company, is seeking an Optical Engineer in Loveland, Colorado, to lead and support innovative optical designs for next-generation sensor products. On-site in Loveland, you will work with R&D and research teams to bring these solutions to realization.

The role requires a BS in Optical Sciences/EE/Physics with 5 years of optical engineering experience, Zemax expertise, and strong data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Optical Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field with 5 years of optical engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing optics for products.
• Experience with Design of Experiments for optical components/systems.
• Proficiency with Zemax OpticStudio for optical design.
• Experience in optical lens design and fabrication.
• Understanding of opto-mechanical assembly, tolerance and stray light analysis.
• Experience with JMP, MATLAB or Python for data analysis.
• Familiar with metrology tools like spectrophotometers and power meters.

Responsibilities

• Devise test and validation plans for optical components and define performance specs.
• Ensure Loveland R&D Optics Lab meets current and upcoming needs as primary user.
• Support design, characterization and integration of optical components into sensor products.
• Perform optical modeling of critical components to meet system requirements.
• Lead research into cutting-edge optics technologies for future innovations.
• Interface with external vendors to source optimal, reliable components.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management and Quality teams.
