Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking an Optical Engineer to join our Danbury, CT engineering team. You will perform optical analyses of optical components and systems, collaborate across disciplines, and help oversee testing and validation from design to deployment.

You will utilize Zemax/Code V/FRED and related tools, contribute to documentation, and work onsite with a small, mission-focused group dedicated to national security programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, ideally Optical Engineering or Optical Science; Physics or EE considered.
  • 5+ years with deep knowledge of imaging, WFE and first-order optics.
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Perform optical analyses of optics or optical systems using commercial and in-house software.
  • Collaborate with systems, mechanical, thermal and other disciplines; present analyses to stakeholders.
  • Document and review manufacturing and testing procedures for optics and systems.
  • Model optical system performance using Zemax, Code V, FRED or similar tools.
  • Oversee testing of optics or optical systems with other organizations.
