Job summary

Shopko Optical is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to support the General Manager in daily store operations, including dispensing eyewear, patient care, and achieving sales goals.

You will help hire, train, coach, and evaluate staff, while leading the team in the General Manager’s absence. The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and operational excellence in a fast-paced optical retail environment.

Qualifications

• ABO/Shopko OCE Certification is required.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Optician experience is preferred.
• Supervisory experience with strong customer service focus is important.
• Solid organizational and planning skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead team to execute merchandise, operational and customer service strategies to deliver planned sales, gross margin and financial results.
• Model service, patient care and selling techniques to maximize customer satisfaction and achieve business objectives.
• Assist with hiring, training and performance management of the store team.
• Assist with store scheduling and ensure compliance with HR policies and state/federal laws.
• Dispense eyewear according to professional standards and support daily operations.
