Job summary

FYidoctors LaSalle is seeking an Optical Associate to join our clinic team in a casual, part-time capacity (0–19 hours/week). The role focuses on delivering exceptional eye care experiences, assisting with eyewear selection, managing appointments, and supporting billing processes.

You will greet patients, interpret prescriptions, take measurements, and help with frame repairs while contributing to a collaborative, patient-first environment in our LaSalle clinic.

Qualifications

• Previous optical experience or retail experience is a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with patients.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email.
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle and assist with frame selection.
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist.
• Take frame and facial measurements for proper fit and adjustments, including repairs.
• Coordinate appointments and prepare prescription printouts.
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers, and third parties.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and orders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and positive patient experiences.
• Support clinic operations with additional duties as required.

Our FYidoctors LaSalle clinic is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as an Optical Associate to fill an existing vacancy!

In this role, you’ll enhance the lives of our patients every single day, delivering exceptional vision and eyewear experiences in a dynamic, rewarding, and collaborative environment.

This position is a casual role working 0-19 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday.

What You’ll Do

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure optimal value, quality, aesthetics, and performance
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments
• Coordinate appointments, and prepare prescription printouts
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required
