Responsibilities

• Perform assembly operations consisting of optical and mechanical components with high precision.
• Set up and break down fixture configurations and load parts onto fixtures as directed.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop methods for new products and improve procedures.
• Maintain cleanroom standards including gowning and inventory control.
• Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on equipment and tooling, lean 6S.

As an Optical Assembly Technician for the Extreme Precision Optics Group in Richmond, CA, you will generate a consistent flow of high-quality work performing assembly operations consisting of optical and mechanical components in collaboration with supervision and planning team to meet on-time delivery schedules.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform assembly operations consisting of optical and mechanical components using various bonding agents (epoxies), chemical processing of parts using potentially hazardous materials (acids), with high precision and detail.
• Set up and break down various fixture configurations, load parts onto fixtures and successfully execute operations as directed.
• Work with engineering to develop methods for new products and assist in continually improving procedures and methods with a mind toward efficiency.
• Handle and clean optical components without downgrading the surfaces, maintain a clean and orderly work environment by following cleaning schedules and inventory control, working in a cleanroom environment, including full cleanroom gowning.
• Perform maintenance and preventatives maintenance on equipment and tooling, lean 6S.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
