Job summary

Apple Inc. in Austin is seeking an Operations Software Engineer- Customer Systems to design, build, and own full-stack software and automation platforms that power reliability, observability, and operational intelligence for global applications.

You will work with Java, Spring Boot, Python, React, and AI/LLM driven automation, building backend services, dashboards, and data pipelines to reduce manual work and improve incident response.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience or 4 years with Masters.
• B.S in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar or equivalent related work experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot/JEE)/ Python /FastAPI / React for developing high performance systems.
• Demonstrated experience designing and shipping end-to-end software systems - backend, API layer, and front-end - with a focus on reliability and developer experience.
• Hands-on experience with database schema design and data access technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL).
• Experience with observability tooling (Splunk, Hubble, ExtraHop, or equivalent) for log analysis, distributed tracing, and dashboarding - a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop full-stack applications and internal platforms that automate operational workflows, system monitoring, and incident management at scale.
• Build robust backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs using Java (JEE/Spring Boot) and Python (FastAPI).
• Develop rich, responsive front-end dashboards and tooling using React for real-time visibility into system health, incidents, and KPIs.
• Design and implement AI/LLM-powered automation agents and MCP servers to handle operational tasks and surface insights.
• Build scalable data pipelines and integration layers that aggregate signals from distributed systems and monitoring tools.
