Job description

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is seeking an OPS Golf Course Pro Shop Assistant. This part-time role is based at the Mark Bostick Golf Course Pro Shop and involves opening and closing the shop, preparing the shop for customers, handling transactions, and securing the premises at the end of the day.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Opening the shop, verifying petty cash, and setting up the computer for transactions.
  2. Providing excellent customer service by greeting members and guests, selling merchandise, and collecting greens and range fees.
  3. Closing the shop, reconciling cash, securing funds in the safe, and turning off lights and alarms.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years old.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Friendly, professional demeanor with the public.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds.
  • Background screening and credit check will be required if selected.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cash handling, sales transactions, and customer service.
