Job Description

The therapist contributes independently to an interdisciplinary approach to patient care service delivery across the continuum of care. They demonstrate effective leadership and function consistently and autonomously in this role. They solve problems and achieve results quickly by virtue of their broad knowledge of institutional resources. Recognized for their knowledge and skills by peers, they are experienced clinicians who complete administrative and clinical projects as assigned by supervisory staff. They help negotiate the healthcare system to maximize quality care delivery and minimize costs.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform physical therapy examinations according to professional standards and departmental policies.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of intervention options and execute a program of skilled physical therapy intervention.
  3. Actively participate in personal and professional growth of self and colleagues.
  4. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and program development.
  5. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
  • Certification: Hand Therapy certification preferred.
  • Licensure: Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Physical Demands

This role requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping/traveling, and the ability to lift/push/pull 20-50 lbs. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are necessary. Attention to detail and legible handwriting are essential. The position may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
