Irving Tissue is seeking a dedicated individual to ensure the safe operation of equipment in their Fort Edward, NY facility. Responsibilities include maintaining high-quality standards, troubleshooting equipment, and collaborating with team members.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED/TASC, less than 1 year of experience, and a strong mechanical aptitude. The position requires the ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe operation of equipment such as overhead cranes, case packers, palletizers, wrappers, rewinders, papermaking machines, fork trucks, clamp trucks, and safeguard employee safety.
• Maintain high‑quality product standards and address quality items with urgency.
• Understand load patterns on trailers and in warehouses.
• Collaborate with team members, Maintenance and Process Support staff to operate and optimize high‑speed equipment and technology.
• Perform product and grade changeovers according to the planned schedule.
• Maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and adjust equipment to maximize performance; enter measurements into computer systems.
• Respond promptly to defects or issues with machines (lights, alarms, visual indicators) to ensure conformance to standards.
• Handle and feed a variety of raw materials into machinery to maintain production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/TASC; trade certification considered an asset.
• Less than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to work rotating 12‑hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, experience with tools and equipment.
• Manufacturing environment experience is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with computers and technology.
• Highly motivated; able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Organized; able to multitask.
• Willingness and ability to learn and grow.
