Job summary

Riverside Research seeks an experienced Subject Matter Expert Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Research Engineer to support NGA projects involving infrared sensing, space-based missile warning, and data exploitation. You will analyze EO/IR data, develop processing algorithms, and collaborate with DoD and industry partners on next-gen sensing technologies.

The role requires a strong background in OPIR systems, AI/ML processing, and Python software development, with a focus on advancing sensor

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• 15+ years EO/IR algorithm development
• Experience with OPIR data formats and processing pipelines
• Advanced Python development skills
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose sensor performance and data anomalies

Responsibilities

• Lead prototyping, development, and support transition of OPIR data processing algorithms
• Evaluate and troubleshoot data processing, identify anomalies, coordinate remediation
• Support development of white papers, technical documentation, and transition plans
• Collaborate with research organizations, DoD stakeholders, and external agencies
