Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA seeks an Engineering Specialist to tackle multi-sensor imagery analysis, exploitation, and integration for national space programs. You will evaluate processing techniques and support trade studies to optimize performance of space systems.

A strong background in math, programming, and imaging is essential. Candidates should have a STEM degree, 8+ years with 2+ years in Space Force/NRO/AF programs, and be capable of producing rigorous algorithm

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field.
Eight years of relevant experience including 2 years supporting Space Force, NRO, or AF space programs.
Experience developing detection, background suppression, and tracking algorithms for imagery data.
Modeling and simulation, test data generation, algorithm trade studies, and reporting findings to stakeholders.
Extensive numerical programming in Python, Matlab, and/or C++.
Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

Solve multi-sensor imagery data analysis, exploitation, and integration for OPIR-related missions.
Evaluate processing techniques to optimize calibration, background suppression, and target detection.
Validate novel image and signal processing algorithms and support trade studies.
Provide independent verification and validation of algorithms for space payloads.
Create visualizations and reports for senior government customers.
