PetVet Care Centers' Animal Eye Guys in Fort Lauderdale is seeking an Ophthalmology Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, including cleaning and maintaining equipment, grooming patients, preparing surgery suites, restraining animals, and handling administrative work.

Our specialty practice focuses on advanced ophthalmology care for pets, with board-certified specialists and multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
• 1 year of veterinary assistant experience, restraining, and customer service

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners, take weight and vitals on arrival
• Triage patients, perform physical exams, treatments and administer meds under supervision
• Calm and soothe anxious patients
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications and restraints
• Perform lab tests and take radiographs
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment and scales and monitors
• Maintain medical records and documentation of medications
