Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Care Center is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Ophthalmology Technician to join our Ophthalmology team in Largo, FL. The full-time role focuses on anesthesia monitoring, diagnostic testing, surgical assistance, and client communication within a fast-paced specialty hospital.

Preferred candidates have credentialing (CVT/LVT/RVT), prior ophthalmology or surgical experience, and familiarity with EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a veterinary technician.
• Proficiency in anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced specialty hospital environment.

Responsabilités

• Obtain and document complete patient histories and concerns.
• Assist with ophthalmic examinations and diagnostic testing (tonometry, Schirmer, fluorescein).
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and surgery.
• Assist the ophthalmologist during exams, procedures, and surgical cases.
• Monitor anesthesia and recovery per hospital protocols.
• Administer medications and accurately dispense per treatment plans.
• Maintain complete medical records and provide client education.
