Job summary

American Vision Partners is seeking a Surgery Scrub Technician to support high-volume ophthalmology surgeries. You will prepare the operating room, assist with sterile technique, and help with patient transfer and post-op tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited surgical technologist program, and experience in a surgical setting. Ophthalmology experience is a plus; strong detail orientation and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Experience in a surgical environment; ophthalmology experience is a plus.
• Detail oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgery, gathering equipment and ensuring sterility.
• Assists with washing, shaving and prepping the surgical site.
• Sets up and maintains the sterile field with proper technique.
• Assists with draping, passing instruments, and other duties as directed.
• Supports the surgeon by anticipating needs and ensuring equipment availability.
• Assists in handling specimens and wound dressings as needed.
• Helps transfer patients to and from the operating room.
• Supports front desk tasks such as answering phones and pulling charts.
