Ophthalmology opening in Cooperstown, NY

Located in the Foothills of the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains, 75 miles from Albany, NY; 190 miles from NYC.

Position Details:

• Full-time, permanent position
• Hospital employed
• Combined General and Pediatric Ophthalmologist
• Seeking a general ophthalmologist with fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology
• Join an established group of 6 ophthalmologists and 2 optometrists. The current pediatric ophthalmologist plans to retire, and the practice is a combined general/pediatric practice. A new eye clinic is under construction, expected to open in late 2024/early 2025.
• Current need is for a high-volume cataract surgeon who can also perform pediatric eye surgery
• The group includes specialists in pediatric, retina, glaucoma, and cornea
• Support staff includes ophthalmic technicians, LPNs, and RNs, all well trained
• On-call is every 6th weekend, from Cooperstown, and is rarely busy
• Outreach clinics attended by all ophthalmologists are limited to one location each
• No NICU coverage required
• Referral patterns to tertiary care ophthalmologists are well established

Salary Range: $209,810 - $442,308
