Qualifications

  • Citizen of the United States (non-citizens may be appointed when recruitment is difficult).
  • English language proficiency required (spoken and written).
  • One year of health care field experience OR two years above high school with health care related courses OR combined education/experience.
  • Certification as a COA by JCAHPO required.

Responsibilities

  • Support Ophthalmologists in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, follow-up care and patient counseling.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures and assist during clinic-based surgical procedures.
  • Educate patients and guardians or legal representatives.
