Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Supervisory Health Technician (Ophthalmology) GS-10 to lead ophthalmic technical duties in a Level 2 or 3 facility.

The role involves managing integration between ophthalmic devices and the electronic medical record system, supervising staff, and directing clinic operations. This position requires COA certification, strong leadership, and excellent organizational skills to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a health care field or equivalent education./education combinations are acceptable.
• Certification as a COA (JCAHPO) is required.
• English language proficiency in speaking and writing as per VA standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Health Technician (Ophthalmology) staff, volunteers, and students.
• Plan and direct staff activities for the outpatient clinic.
• Ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory requirements and conduct performance appraisals.
