• High School Diploma or GED required and completion of a medical office assistant program or equivalent training.
• Certificate/credential in medical assistance or related healthcare support is preferred or two years healthcare setting experience.

Responsibilities

• answers telephones, greet patients, file and update patient records, verify demographics and insurance, schedule appointments, and perform billing and bookkeeping.
• Check-in patients, assist with histories, verify information, prepare charts, assist providers during examinations, and perform billing per clinic protocols.
• Educate patients on medical issues, assist with scheduling, coding and billing of procedures.
• Arrange examining room equipment, clean rooms, escort patients, and manage medical supplies.
