Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Foundation is seeking a Certified Ophthalmology Assistant (COA) to provide essential clinical and administrative support to ophthalmology teams in a busy practice. You will perform direct patient care, ocular testing, and assist with in-office procedures, documenting all patient information accurately.

Ideal candidates will have a formal ophthalmic technician program, COA certification on hire (or Opthalmic Technician), and CPR.

Qualifications

• High School GED or High School Graduate.
• Minimum 1 year working in an optometry or ophthalmology practice.
• Formal certified ophthalmic technician program per state requirements.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant upon hire or Certified Opthalmic Technician upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support to Ophthalmologists/Optometrists.
• Perform ocular testing and assist with in-office procedures.
• Administer medications and document patient information meticulously.
• Support both clinical and administrative operations.
• Follow scripted greetings and closings in patient interactions.
