Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. through Riverside Medical Clinic is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support visual field testing and patient care. The position involves preparing charts, calibrating equipment, performing visual field assessments, and documenting results for physician review.

The ideal candidate will have a COA credential, CPR, and 1–2 years in ophthalmology/optometry. This on-site role offers professional development and a stable healthcare environment within UHS network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years ophthalmology/optometry experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• COA certification required.
• AHA BLS (Healthcare Professional) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure chart readiness prior to patient visit.
• Neutralize patient’s glasses and set prescription into Field Analyzer.
• Instruct patients on and administer visual field tests; record information in chart.
• Complete charting; ensure doctor has seen results and discussed abnormal results; schedule follow-ups.
• Complete patient charge tickets; enter ICD-9 Code based on physician’s diagnosis.
• Occasional filing and/or follow‑up tracking of lab and x‑ray reports.
• Maintain COA and BLS certification.
