Base pay range

$25.00/hr - $38.00/hr

Description

Location: UCHealth UCHlth Eye Center Aurora, CO

Department: UCHealth Eye Center Anschutz

FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $25.80 - $38.70 / hour. Pay depends on relevant experience.

Summary

Assists Cornea service line providers in patient care in clinic and procedural areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care under provider supervision in clinic and procedure rooms.
• Schedule patients for clinic visits, procedures, and follow-ups.
• Perform documentation, patient education, and charge entry.
• Orient, train, and educate students, staff, and residents.
• Serve as a staff resource and mentor.
• Assist with prescription refills under provider guidance.
• Ensure proper care and use of medical instruments.
• Assist with minor procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques.
• Review schedules for coverage and report discrepancies.
• Perform clinical and procedural duties as delegated.
• Coordinate between clinics, departments, and external physicians for efficient patient care.
• Support patient flow and demonstrate proficiency in ophthalmic skills.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED; completion of UCHealth preceptor course.
• Certifications: COA, COT, COMT, NCLEC, and BLS Healthcare Provider.
• Minimum 3 years ophthalmic training or internship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Over 3 years experience with a Cornea specialist, assisting in refractive and minor procedures, patient education on IOL, and crosslinking.
