Job summary

Valley Eye Institute in Sidney, OH is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists by performing initial tests and prepping patients for exams. You will use diagnostic equipment and document findings to assist with high-quality eye care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year related experience or training.
• COA/COT certification preferred but not required.
• HIPAA confidentiality standards must be followed.
• Commitment to working over 40 hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally and maintain courteous interactions.
• Anticipate physician needs to facilitate clinic flow.
• Document medical history and current medications accurately.
• Record data in EMR and verify patient information.
• Operate diagnostic tests: dilation, refraction, pressures, visual fields, OCT, and more.
• Prepare patients for treatments and record vital signs.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and assist with minor procedures.
