Prairie Eye Center Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Technician to join our busy practice in Springfield, IL. This full-time position involves gathering patient histories, preparing exam rooms, and performing pre-exam screenings with training provided.

You will assist ophthalmologists during minor procedures and help maintain instruments in a patient-first environment. Candidates should be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working with a team.

Qualifications

• Customer service mindset and patient-first approach.

• Prior medical or ophthalmic experience is a plus, but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document patients' medical and eye history using the EHR system.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms for patient visits.
• Perform pre-exam screenings and diagnostic tests (training provided).
• Conduct visual acuity and color vision testing, auto-lensometry and autorefraction, tonometry, Amsler grid, and pupil evaluation.
• Assist physicians during minor procedures.
• Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic and surgical instruments (training provided).
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
