Ophthalmic Technician (Non-certified) - FT Days - Ophthalmology Clinic

SUMMARY
The Ophthalmic Technician collects data and measurements to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assessment: Participates in data collection and analysis related to patient care; reports critical findings to the Registered Nurse and/or Physician.
  2. Planning and Collaboration: Contributes to developing individualized care plans, identifying strategies and alternatives to achieve expected outcomes, and collaborates with healthcare team members as appropriate.
  3. Implementation: Executes the individualized patient and family care plan.
  4. Evaluation: Engages in evaluating the achievement of care outcomes.
  5. Patient Advocacy: Advocates for patient and family rights; educates patients and families about their responsibilities.
  6. Teaching: Provides education to patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  7. Performance Improvement: Participates in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and provides direct patient observation, care, and assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year ophthalmic experience preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Card required.
  • JCAHPO certification is preferred.
