Job summary

Delaware Eye Care Center is seeking a patient-focused Ophthalmic Technician for the Dover, DE office. This role supports exams, enters data into the EHR, and assists with testing and treatments in a team-oriented environment.

The position emphasizes patient rapport, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety and compliance guidelines. Full-time benefits include medical, dental, optical coverage, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician preferred.
• Experience in a multi-specialty clinic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmologist/optometrist in exam lane and enter data into EHR.
• Perform pre-exam testing (visual acuity, dilation, tonometry) and document findings.
• Conduct testing such as color vision, stereopsis, dry eye, keratometry, and OCT.
• Assist with contact lens fitting and patient instructions.
• Prepare instruments, maintain inventory, and ensure cleanliness of exam lanes.
• Support doctors with minor procedures or laser treatments as needed.
