Job summary

Washington Eye Center in Alaska is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support a high-volume ophthalmology practice, delivering quality, compassionate eye care from exam to eyewear.

Responsibilities include gathering patient history, performing ophthalmic testing (auto-refraction, visual acuity, tonometry, OCT, keratometry, pachymetry), administering eye drops, entering data into charts, and supporting patient services in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Obtain and document patient history.
• Perform ophthalmic procedures and testing including auto-refraction, visual acuity, tonometry, OCT, keratometry, pachymetry.
• Use Topcon System for automated refraction.
• Administer eye drops and ocular medications per physician orders.
• Enter patient data accurately into charts and records.

Well established Ophthalmology practice in Washington PAnow hiring for an Ophthalmic technician that will support ourhigh-volumepractice. Wefocuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services from exam to eyewear.

Responsibilities:

This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.

Ophthalmic skills include:

• Obtaining and documenting patient history
• Performs accurate ophthalmic procedures and testing (auto-refraction; visual acuity; measure and record glasses; tonometry; pupils; dilate; HRT; VF; pachymeter; corneal topography; OCT,keratometry; confrontation fields
• Performing automated refraction using Topcon System
• Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician
• Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into charts
• Providing patient services
