Job summary

Atlantic Eye Institute is seeking an ophthalmic technician to support physicians by collecting ocular history, performing tests, and documenting results in the electronic medical record. The role includes patient interaction, medication administration, and assistive tasks in the ophthalmic clinic.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, 3 years of ophthalmic assistant experience, and preferably a COA certification, with familiarity in Modernizing Medicine software.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as uncertified ophthalmic assistant preferred.
  • COA certification preferred.
  • Experience with Modernizing Medicine is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist ophthalmologist/optometrists by gathering data on ocular health status.
  • Perform clinical tests and document results in EMR.
  • May act as medical scribe during examinations.
  • Administer medications as directed.
  • Maintain exam room cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Support patient education and comply with procedures and regulations.
