Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician I Floater to provide technical ophthalmic assistance, patient care, and administrative support at our medical offices at the Doheny Eye Centers in Arcadia, Orange County, and Pasadena. The OT will collaborate with other technicians and physicians to ensure high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Perform imaging and diagnostic testing, including OCT, visual fields, and other specialized tests.
  2. Assist in setting up and executing minor ophthalmic procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are prepared.
  3. Conduct preliminary eye examinations and accurately document patient medical histories.
  4. Educate patients on eye care, treatment plans, and post-procedure instructions.
  5. Maintain and sterilize ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
  6. Assist in obtaining prior authorizations.
  7. Manage inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies.

Salary Range: $33.02 - $43.56 Hourly

This position functions as a floater between multiple UCLA Health locations within the Department of Ophthalmology and will be assigned to satellite locations as needed to provide patient care services. Ability to travel is required.
