Job summary

EyeSouth Partners is hiring an Ophthalmic technician for Cumberland Eye Care, delivering high-quality eye care and compassionate service. The role supports a high-volume practice across multiple offices with travel as required.

Responsibilities include obtaining patient histories, measuring visual acuity, performing automated refraction, administering eye drops, EMR data entry, and helping maintain equipment while ensuring patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills and excellent interpersonal communication are required.
• Ability to work in a high-volume ophthalmic practice with attention to quality care.
• Must be able to travel between offices as needed and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient history and determine visual acuity.
• Perform automated refraction and administer eye drops as ordered.
• Enter data into EMR and support office tasks for efficient patient flow.
• Maintain equipment and assist in patient services across offices.

We offer various services such as Cataracts, Glaucoma, LASIK, routine eye care and a full service optical shop at both offices serving Crossville and Fairfield Glade.

We are now hiring for an Ophthalmic technician that will support a high-volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.

This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision‑making.

Ophthalmic skills include

• Obtaining and documenting patient history
• Determining visual acuity
• Performing automated refraction
• Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician
• Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMR
• Providing patient services
• Maintaining equipment and instruments
• Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required
• Must be flexible with traveling to various locations.
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable
• The ability to recognize inconsistencies

Education

• Graduation from an accredited high school
