Wills Eye Hospital in Plymouth Meeting, PA seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to perform preliminary ocular assessments, including history taking, visual acuity, lensometry, tonometry, pupil dilation, and autorefraction under physician supervision. This full-time role offers patient interaction in a busy eye clinic.

Qualified candidates have a High School diploma, COA certification after two years, and at least two years of clinical experience.

• COA certification after two years on the job is required.
• Two years of clinical/healthcare experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to the physician with examination procedures and other patient care activities as requested.
• Oversees the efficient flow of patients through the eye clinic, assuring resources are sufficient and properly directed.
• Performs lensometry and reads lenses with multifocal/progressive adds and axis/power details.
• Performs intraocular pressure assessments using applanation tonometry and Tonopen.
• Instills dilating drops per physician's instructions.
• Maintains stocked exam rooms and communicates professionally with staff.
