Advocate Health is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support ophthalmology services across Summit, Hartland, and Waukesha locations. Responsibilities include room setup, patient prep, history documentation, and assisting with diagnostic tests and refractions.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in ophthalmic care, BLS certification within 6 months, and strong attention to detail with excellent communication. This is a full-time on-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required.
Typically 2 years of experience in an optometric/ophthalmic assistant or technician role.
BLS certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

Organizes and prepares exam rooms and work areas, including cleaning, stocking, and equipment handling.
Prepares patient for exam and assists physician; records ocular/medical history and chief complaint.
Performs diagnostic tests and visual screenings (e.g., visual field, tonometry, topography, refraction).
Assists ophthalmologist with surgeries and post-operative care.
