Position Highlights
  • Position: Ophthalmic Technologist
  • Location: Glenview, IL
  • Schedule: Full Time, rotating hours between 8:00-7:00, Tuesday - Friday 7:45-5:00
  • Travel: Based on department needs
Role Overview

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will assist ophthalmologists and eye care professionals in diagnosing, treating, and managing eye conditions. You will work in a state-of-the-art facility and collaborate with the eye care team to ensure excellent patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preliminary eye examinations and assessments, including visual acuity, intraocular pressure, pupil reactions, and visual field testing.
  • Obtain detailed patient medical history related to eye health.
  • Administer ophthalmic tests such as tonometry, keratometry, OCT, fundus photography, and pachymetry.
  • Assist during eye examinations, surgeries, and laser treatments, ensuring patient comfort and understanding.
  • Educate patients on eye care procedures, pre- and post-operative instructions, and contact lens or glasses care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documenting assessments, tests, and treatments.
  • Perform routine maintenance on ophthalmic equipment.
  • Assist in sterilization and preparation of surgical instruments.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive eye care.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Vocational Degree required, or
  • High School diploma required
