Job summary

SVS Vision in Michigan is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to provide clinical support for the Doctor of Optometry, increasing patient satisfaction and exam efficiency. This position reports to the Professional Services Department.

You will work with a team in a fast-paced optical setting, performing refraction, tonometry, OCT, visual acuity testing, and related procedures while maintaining patient care standards and professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Assists in improving exam efficiency and elevating patient experience.
• Communicates with the retail office management and staff.
• Prepares the clinic day with strong organizational skills.
• Refraction.
• Case history review including current medical conditions.
• Non-Contact tonometry.
• Auto-refractor.
• Visual acuity testing.
• Blood pressure measurement.
• Lensometer.
• Visual field testing.
• Fundus photography.
• OCT testing.
• Eye drop instillation.
• Additional clinical procedures requested by the supervising OD that falls within the scope of knowledge of the Ophthalmic Technician.
• Hands off patient care to the OD.
