Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to assist ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians and physicians in outpatient settings across multiple sites in New York. The role focuses on patient vision screening, administering eye medications and maintaining sterile instruments and rooms to support high-quality eye care.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–3 years of relevant experience and preferably current ophthalmic technician certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Ophthalmic Technician Certification preferred, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience, required.
• Ability to travel to other sites as needed highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine vision screening.
• Administers eye medications.
• Cleans ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
• Prepares and maintains treatment rooms.
• Performs related duties as required; essential functions under the ADA.
