Position Title

OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN - KU Eye and Surgery Center

Position Summary / Career Interest:

Supports physicians by performing specialized ophthalmic duties requiring demonstrated expertise under supervision.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

• Perform professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
• Prepare patient examination rooms as necessary.
• Maintain minor procedure and laser rooms, including ordering supplies.
• Maintain ophthalmic equipment.
• Escort patients to examination rooms, perform ophthalmic pre-testing, and assist with examinations and procedures.
• Attend continuing education to maintain current knowledge.
• Coordinate work with clerical personnel to ensure clinic efficiency and optimal patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned, depending on department needs.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of related experience
