Job summary

Queens Medical in New York, NY is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our ambulatory care team. This role travels between Queens and possibly Brooklyn locations, supporting eye exams and patient care for our union members.

Responsibilities include gathering patient records, performing tests such as Non-Contact Tonometry, Visual Fields, and OCT, analyzing results, and assisting Optometrists. 2–3 years of Ophthalmic Technician experience and Spanish language skills preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of ophthalmic technician experience performing autorefractor, Non-Contact Tonometry, Visual Fields Testing and Optical Coherence Tomography.
• Spanish language proficiency preferred.
• Zeiss instruments: Humphrey Field Analyzer 3; CIRRUS Photo 600.

Responsibilities

• Perform eye tests: Non-Contact Tonometry, Retinal Photography, Visual Fields, and Optical Coherence Tomography.
• Analyze test results.
• Administer and/or prepare medication.
• Provide eye care information to patient.

• Assist Optometrists in basic procedures.

Duties and responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

• Professional proficiency in the Spanish language preferred.
• Knowledge of the following Zeiss instruments is preferred:
