Children's Hospital Los Angeles is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists and nursing staff in the Vision Center on the main campus, with some travel to satellite locations.
You will perform patient care tasks, assist with eye examinations, and handle supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment per hospital policies. A year of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant is preferred, with pediatric ophthalmology experience favored.
Variable, 4x10hr shifts per week, Monday - Friday. The day off will not necessarily be the same each week.
The Ophthalmic Technician, under general supervision of an Ophthalmologist, performs a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians, nurses, and division personnel. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
The Vision Center is located at the main hospital campus and some travel to satellite locations may be required.
1+ years’ experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant required; previous Pediatric Ophthalmology experience preferred; basic knowledge of eye examination techniques; bilingual preferred.
Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant preferred. Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician preferred.
