• Dilate patients as directed by the physician.

Job description:Position SummaryThe Ophthalmic Technician at Retina Associates, P.A. is a non-exempt employee who serves on the front line of patient care by preparing patients to be seen by the physician. This position requires the use of clinical knowledge to perform eye-related clinical tasks, including obtaining patient medical histories, instructing patients about medications, performing vision and diagnostic testing, and assisting with the training of other ophthalmic personnel as needed.ScheduleThe Ophthalmic Technician's schedule (while working at BEC) is typically 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM. During periods of high patient volume, technicians may be asked to remain later to assist with patient screening. If assigned as the "late" technician, the expected schedule is 8:30 AM until the last patient leaves.
