Job summary

Shepherd Eye Center in Las Vegas, NV seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye conditions. The role involves specialized eye exam testing, patient flow optimization, and diagnostic procedures such as Visual fields, OCT, and corneal topography.

The position requires at least one year of ophthalmic tech experience, with COA certification preferred. Responsibilities include inventory management, telephonic prescription refills, and strict HIPAA

Responsibilities

• Provide phone support for prescription refills as authorized by the physician.

They perform various clinical and technical duties to ensure the efficient delivery of eye care services.**Work Hours**: 7:30am to 5pm PST Monday - Friday# **Roles and Responsibilities*** Ability to perform specialized eye exam testing while streamlining patient flow.* Other diagnostic testing may include: Visual fields, OCT, Corneal Topography, Venipuncture, etc..* May assist with inventory of ophthalmic supplies, including pharmaceuticals and instruments on a regular basis.* Provides phone support with request for prescription refills as authorized by the physician.* Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, such as HIPPA guidelines, to maintain patient confidentially and privacy.* May perform other duties as necessary# **Experience Requirements*** One year experience as an ophthalmic technician required* One year experience in a customer facing position preferred# **Education Requirements*** High school diploma or GED preferred* Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification preferred not required# **Physical Demands*** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
